Chelsea outgoings machine go brrrrrrrr
£300m! Plus Spurs get absolutely trolled on Eze.
Last summer, Chelsea made an incredible £175m worth of sales, one of the biggest outgoing windows in football history. Many of the sales were inflated PSR swaps or players that most fans didn’t want to see go, but needed to in order to balance the books. It was a bit of a fake news £175m in sales. This year’s sell-off is not fake news at all.
Via Transfermarkt, here’s all the outgoings that Chelsea have already finalized, not including any potential add-ons. It’s well over £200m in sales, with only the Felix and Amougou ones eliciting a bit of an eyeroll. The others are just real. Teams with no obligation to or shared investors with Chelsea paying a lot of money for players because they want to sign them, though I’d like an investigation into Burnley.
And the outgoings machine is still firing. Chelsea look set to sell Renato Veiga to Villarreal for €25m + €5m in add-ons, a club record fee for the Yellow Submarine. Carney Chukwumenka is heading to Borussia Dortmund for a similar €25m, with a bonus Aaron Anselmino loan as a thank you for the nice fee. The perpetually unsellable Axel Disasi is now rumoured to be heading to Bournemouth on a loan-to-buy, since Chelsea don’t even need the money immediately.
Yes, there are still a lot of players Chelsea is struggling to get out the door. Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku are being left out of Enzo Maresca’s squad as they seek deals away. The Blues will obviously not be getting a transfer fee for Ben Chilwell or Raheem Sterling. David Datro Fofana is still, somehow, on their books.
But Chelsea appear to be well on their way to a transfer window with over £300m in outgoings. They’re finding ways to flip pretty meh players that didn’t work out well at Chelsea for profit, or at least PSR break even fees. There’s still a lot of work left to completely undo their 2022-2024 era mistakes, but they’re pulling it off, and putting themselves in a great position going forward.
Even if I’d rather they kept playing Jackson instead of signing Joao Pedro.
More transfer rumours
In Chelsea incomings news, “BlueCo” is signing Julio Enciso from Brighton. If you’re wondering why the transfer is being reported that way, it’s probably because they’re not sure yet if Chelsea or Strasbourg is going to be the purchasing entity, and some other moves need to happen first before that’s finalized. Aren’t MCOs fun?
Yesterday’s big news was that Tottenham have been thoroughly GAZUMPED by Arsenal for Eberechi Eze. He’ll have his medical at Arsenal on Friday ahead of a £60m + £8m add-ons transfer. Palace are apparently not scared of losing out on that fee due to an injury and are insisting that Eze play for them in the Conference League on Thursday night. If you are smart enough to not spend time on social media apps, Spurs fans are taking this extremely poorly.
If you’re a Tottenham fan and looking for some cope, here’s a link to Maghnes Akliouche, and another one to Nathan Collins.
After weeks of Rasmus Hojlund speculation, AC Milan have pivoted towards signing Victor Boniface on similar terms instead. I can’t imagine why!

Hojlund is now being linked to Napoli on a loan-to-buy following Romelu Lukaku’s injury. He sure is linked to a lot of big clubs for a guy who never goes anywhere.
While Marseille are trying to offload the fighty boys, they also need a left back, and are looking into signing Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas.
Nottingham Forest are apparently not done making signings, and are interested in Sevilla right back Jose Angel Carmona. Forest have run a pretty lean squad of versatile guys at the back and have been lucky to avoid serious injuries in that area.
West Ham have agreed to send Edson Alvarez to Fenerbahce on loan with an option to buy… so a loan. Not great for the Hammers that they couldn’t get a guaranteed fee here.
Andy Diouf is a target for Inter Milan, and he has an amazing profile. Central midfielder who is absolutely elite at dribbling and doesn’t pass at all. It feels like a large segment of the football world has decided that midfield passing is fake.
